Meet Hatice: Client Services Adviser

by Vidthya

Meet Hatice, she joined The Currency Account in November 2016 and is also the baby of our team! She is super kind, gracious and always helpful, (you will know what I mean if you have ever called our office and spoken with her!) Hatice has a special connection with our customers; she is companionate and extremely patient and I can guarantee that our customers always end their conversations feeling very content with the service they have received. We caught up over lunch this week to find out more about her time spent here so far!

What is the best thing about working in the city?

You see and get to meet so many different people, from all walks of life every day. Everyone rushing to be on time, I love the hustle and bustle of city life!

What made you want to join TCA?

As it is a start-up company there is a lot to learn. We have a small friendly team, which is very helpful for me, I get to interact with the Heads of departments, ask them for advice and draw on their experiences. The best thing about working in a start-up company is, you don’t know what to expect. It is exciting and at times can be very demanding!

What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?

My favourite hobby is swimming, before starting at TCA I use to go every week, however since joining the City, I don’t have as much time as before. I must confess I love shopping as much as I do swimming! You can also find me eating out in Nandos every weekend!

What were you doing before you joined TCA?

I went to university in Leicester for a year, to study architecture. I realised there that University life wasn’t for me, that’s when I decided to pull out of my course to join The Currency Account. (The best decision I ever made!)

What’s your favourite feature about The Currency Account?

The fact that we offer the live market rate. Not many companies offer this preferential rate to their retail and business customers. Also, you can hold more than one currency in your account, which makes us even more competitive.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I’ve always had in interest in acting; I use to volunteer at sixth-form as the teacher’s assistant in drama lessons! (Teacher’s pet!!) I was born in the most beautiful part of Turkey called; Denizli and visit the amazing Pamukkale 'Cotton Castle' thermal pools every year with my family. It is a must see, if you ever visit Turkey.

What service would you like TCA to launch next?

It would be a pre-paid currency travel card! I get inundated with calls asking us when we will be launching this service, so it is definitely on the top of our priority list!

Finally, Hatice who is the Table Tennis Champion of the TCA office?!

I don’t have much of an interest in table tennis when my colleagues play during their breaks, so definitely not me! I say Jonathan Champion! (He lives up to his
